Jules Verne Playing Cards

As many know, Bicycle playing cards are renowned for their custom-themed decks, which are highly sought after by collectors. This particular deck celebrates the classic writer and filmmaker Jules Verne. I was commissioned by Traction to illustrate the entire deck. To bring this project to life, I immersed myself in Jules Verne's world, drawing inspiration from his iconic works like From the Earth to the Moon and Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. Each story and story characters were studied then illustrated in the traditional rotational symmetrical playing card style. This project has been one of my favorite illustration endeavors to date.
